A clear path for every concern.
Good reporting is more than sending a form. Each concern needs review, the right response pathway, and a way for communities to see what happens next.
These steps describe the platform's intended coordination pathway. Statutory agencies keep responsibility for their own investigations and official procedures.
- 01COMMUNITY
Raise the concern
A resident, community leader, or monitoring group submits a report online. Choose a category, share where and when it happened, and select an appropriate recipient - or ask for help directing it.
Example: residents report discoloured water near a mining site. - 02PILOT TEAM
Review and triage
The pilot coordination team checks the information, considers any immediate risk, and identifies the relevant local authority, regulator, or civil society support pathway. They may seek clarification if contact details were provided.
Urgent risks should also be reported directly to local emergency services or authorities. - 03RESPONSIBLE INSTITUTION
Refer for appropriate action
Where appropriate, the concern can be referred to the responsible institution. The institution decides and carries out its own assessment, verification, and response under its procedures.
For example, an environmental regulator may assess a pollution concern and decide whether sampling is needed. - 04RESPONSE
Record progress and follow up
Updates can be recorded as a concern is reviewed, referred, acted on, or resolved. Use the private code from submission to check available updates without creating an account.
A report marked “resolved” reflects a recorded platform update, not an independent guarantee of outcome. - 05ACCOUNTABILITY
Learn from community evidence
Aggregated trends can help communities, civil society, local authorities, and regulators understand recurring issues and inform dialogue on environmental compliance and fair resource governance.
